Brief notes about Patna Roughcut -Siddharth Choudhury
- No I did not like but was fluid enough to finish in a couple of hours, which counts for something.
- Liked the narrative which takes on a different person each time and speak about more or less the same events.
- Too verbose in places. Reminds me of literature students (whose copies I need to edit, sometimes) and realise again the George Orwell could not have said it better.
- Decent writing (unlike other authors who get published and then sell books for Rs 95 and land up in the best sellers’ list- with mostly unreadable prose)
- At one point in the book and its brief read, I wondered what was the point. Something like the movie ‘Road’ – no comparison here but really what was the point there too?
